Translation - Books
To translate a mathematics textbook, you need someone who understands the content. The language of mathematics differs from that of daily life or of literature. Because of this, a translator without a mathematical background can unwittingly change the meaning of a whole piece of text.
The first book I translated was still being written while I worked on it. I was in close contact with the author and could discuss pieces of text with him when necessary. For me, this was ideal because even within mathematics, sentences sometimes allow more than one interpretation. Below is the list of books I have translated.
- Algebraic Geometry and Arithmetic Curves, by Qing Liu
- Topics in Elementary Geometry, by Oene Bottema
- Plane and Solid Geometry, by Jan Aarts
- Elementa Curvarum Linearum, Liber Secundus, by A.W. Grootendorst: the author died before completing the translation from Dutch to English. I translated parts of the work, including the introduction and appendix. Jan Aarts and Miente Bakker were responsible for the project.

- Morse Theory and Floer Homology, by Michèle Audin and Mihai Damian
- The p-adic Simpson Correspondence, by A. Abbes, M. Gros, and T. Tsuji (only the chapters by the first two authors)
- Ergodic Theory and Dynamical Systems, by Yves Coudène
- An Introduction to Mathematical Statistics, by Fetsje Bijma, Marianne Jonker, and Aad van der Vaart
- Automorphic Forms and Even Unimodular Lattices, by Gaëtan Chenevier and Jean Lannes
