Teaching
My first experience with teaching was as a 7th grader, teaching Basic and Multiplan to adults during a one-week summer course. As a student at the Universiteit Utrecht and as a (PhD) student and later associate professor at the Université de Rennes I, I lead many problem sessions and taught a few courses.
In January 2004, I started as a teacher of mathematics for the Wereldschool. This school offers distance learning to Dutch school children abroad, and in some cases in the Netherlands. Contact with the students is through the internet, email and regular mail. I now also work for IVIO@School, which has split off from the Wereldschool to concentrate on school children in the Netherlands.
Distance learning suits me well. I in particular
appreciate the possibility
to give individual attention to those who need it. I also
like teaching students in person, preferably one-on-one or
in small groups, anything from
primary school level to undergraduate level. If you are
looking for someone with a strong mathematical background
